Kyary Pamyu Pamyu Reveals New Music Video About Her Life "Yume No Hajima Ring Ring"
Kyary Pamyu Pamyu revealed a new music video for her new song “Yume No Hajima Ring Ring” prior to the release date of her upcoming single (due out on Wednesday, February 26th). The song is currently being used as the theme song for CHINTAI’s TV commercial.

“Yume No Hajima Ring Ring”, written by producer Yasutaka Nakata, is great for this coming graduation season! With the theme “Encounters and Farewells”, the video shows a story of KPP growing up as a person and artist.

The new video was produced by Jun Tamaki, a music video director who has produced many of KPP’s videos before. In the clip, KPP shows her grown-up side. She looks back at her childhood and adolescent years wearing a school uniform, her first furisode (a type of kimono worn on “Coming-of-Age Day” by girls who are turning 20 that year) as well as her well-known costume for  “PONPONPON” (her debut single that went viral) and her cute and chic costume for “Fashion Monster”.

<Comment from Kyary Pamyu Pamyu>
Because the song is quite realistic compared to my other songs, I wanted to make a video that's based on a story. The theme is “graduation” so I tried to create a colorful school uniform and a furisode that are unique to me. The video has scenes of me performing my debut single “PONPONPON” and my favorite song “Fashion Monster”. I had to go through so many posing scenes and it took long to film but it was worth it! I’m really happy with how it turned out!

<Behind-the-Scenes Episodes>
A music video shoot took place at a studio in Kanagawa Prefecture in early February. It was a long shoot finishing just before the dawn.

Jun Tamaki directed the video as he had done for KPP’s earlier videos.
He and his close staff members had gone through many pre-production meetings already, and were ready to film this new video for KPP's upcoming single “Yume No Hajima Ring Ring”, to tell the singer's story of growing up with a focus on the concept of “Encounters and Farewells”.

KPP wore a total of five costumes on the day, and dressed as a child, a student, a 20-year-old girl in a furisode, and the singer performing her hit singles "PONPONPON" and "Fashion Monster".
The filming kicked off with the singer adorned in a cute red and white striped furisode with prints of a character designed by director Jun. It was her first time wearing a furisode, and KPP had prepared a new look to try on for this special occasion, which resulted as a nice vivid look in the video!

She then went through a costume change and dressed as a child. She played the role with red shoes on her knees, and made sure that her acting and appearance resemble a child.

She then dressed herself in the “PONPONPON” outfit, the very first costume created by Kumiko Ijima (a costume designer who has been working with KPP closely over the years). This getup means a lot to KPP. It is indispensable when talking about a journey of her life and career.

The 21-year-old wore her favorite costume “Fashion Monster” as another example of her past music videos. Thanks to her worldwide recognition as the “Fashion Monster”, the outfit was chosen as the best one to express KPP as an iconic fashion figure.

This new video, which features many familiar characters and motifs, is sure to entertain many KPP fans!
